Tax Relief Programs – Deadline Reminder

A reminder that November 1st is a deadline for a number of tax relief programs including those for disabled veterans, paraplegic individuals (veteran and non-veteran), and exempt private organization such as churches and other charitable groups.

It is also the deadline to file for Agricultural Status on property. This classification can provide significant tax reduction.

Courthouse Closed – Native American Day

The Oglala Lakota & Fall River County Courthouse in Hot Springs will be closed Monday, October 14th in observance of Native American Day. Regular business will resume as usual on Tuesday, October 15th.

Courthouse Closed – Labor Day

The Fall River & Oglala Lakota County courthouse in Hot Springs will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday September 2nd, 2024. The courthouse will resume normal hours on Tuesday September 3rd, 2024.

Reminder: First-half Property Tax Due by April 30th

The first half of property taxes are due to the Treasurer’s office by Tuesday, April 30th. You can pay your taxes over the phone by credit card (additional card processing fee), by check through the mail (postmarked by April 30th), or in person at the courthouse at 906 N River St.

For those planning to pay in person please be aware that road construction has moved to in front of the courthouse. Starting April 29th the parking lots will only be available from the north end. The courthouse/jail parking lot from the intersection of Battle Mountain Ave and N River St and the East parking Lot from the alley access across from the Battle Mountain Ave Convenience Store.
