Early Voting Moved to Sacred Heart Church

Early voting for the 2020 General Election has been moved from the Johnson O’Malley building to the Sacred Heart Church in Pine Ridge. Bring your ID and wear your mask.

Deadline to register to vote is October 19, 2020.

Closed in observance of Labor Day

The Courthouse will be closed on Monday, September 6, 2021, in observance of labor day. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

5:02:09:01.01.  Notice of testing automatic tabulating equipment. The notice of testing the automatic tabulating equipment shall be in the following form:

Notice is hereby given that the automatic tabulating equipment will be tested to ascertain that it will correctly count the votes for all offices and measures that are to be cast at the Primary election held on the 2nd day of June, 2020.

The test will be conducted on the 29th day of May, 2020, at 9:00 o’clock a.m. at the following location: Fall River County Courthouse, 1st floor foyer.

Absentee Voter Applications Going Out

The South Dakota Secretary of State office will be mailing absentee ballot applications to all South Dakota registered voters.  The applications will be mailed between April 17-24.  Voters are encouraged to complete their application as soon as possible to allow for delivery and processing time.  Fall River and Oglala Lakota voters should send their application to:

State law requires that applications be notarized OR include a photocopy of an acceptable photo ID card.  Those without access to a photo copier can take a photo of their ID using their phone or camera and email the photo to [email protected]  or text the photo to 605-890-3020.  For additional questions contact the Auditor’s Office at [email protected] or 605-745-5130.
