The Treasurer’s office has mailed out applications for the Elderly & Disabled Assessment Freeze to individuals who were in the program in Oglala Lakota County last year. Eligibility Requirements for 2024 are as follows:
- Must be at least 65 years of age or disabled.
- Income cannot exceed $40,290 for a single-member household, or $51,801 for a multiple-member household.
- Have owned the single-family dwelling for at least one year and have been a resident of South Dakota for at least one year.
- Have resided for at least 200 days of the previous calendar year (2023) in the single-family dwelling, the value of said dwelling must be under $345,340.
Owners who have not previously been in the program can apply using this application. This letter from the treasurer’s office further explains the documents needed to file the application.
Applications are due April 1, 2024. (Applications for the program must be filed yearly).
